Katie Holmes will portray a non-profit attorney in one of
the episodes of ABC’s TV Series “Eli Stone”.
Apparently, the episode with Katie Holmes, the second one of
the season, will be aired on October 21, but the producers didn’t reveal to
many details.
Eli Stone executive producer Greg Berlanti and Katie Holmes
have already worked together on “Dawson’s
Creek” and Berlanti told People that he “begged” Katie Holmes to play a part in
“Eli Stone”. He also said that Katie Holmes will be "singing and dancing"
during the episode.
Holmes kick started her acting career as the quiet and
studious Joey Potter in television drama series “Dawson’s Creek,” which aired on the WB from
1998 to 2003.
Among her more recent movie parts, Holmes costarred with Christian Bale in
2005’s “Batman Begins” and last year’s comedy “Mad Money,” with Diane Keaton
and Queen Latifah.
Katie Holmes will join John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest and
Patrick Wilson on Broadway this fall, in a stage revival of Arthur Miller’s
“All My Sons.”
“All My Sons” opened on Broadway at the Coronet Theatre in New York City in January
1947 and was awarded the 1947 Tony Award for Best Play. It was directed by Elia Kazan, to whom it is dedicated, and starred Ed Begley,
Beth Miller, Arthur Kennedy, and Karl Malden. It was Miller’s first Broadway
success.
Holmes will portray a woman who visits her dead fiancé’s
parents (portrayed by Lithgow and Wiest). Wilson
will portray the surviving son, an idealistic young man who has fallen in love
with his late brother’s sweetheart.
