The much awaited issue of People magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful People is due to appear, and guess who’s the head of the list!

Kate Hudson, the mother of a 4-year-old son, can be proud of being this year’s number one beauty, on the list that includes Amanda Beard, Salma Hayek, Mary J. Blige, Eva Longoria and Sarah Silverman.

It seems the lack of sleep that the actress complains of didn’t make her less sexy in any way.

Unlike other stars who spend hours taking care of their beauty, Hudson confessed to People that she had no time for manicures or facial treatments, as she dedicated all of her time to her little son.

She was not a glamour girl during childhood either, she tells the magazine.

"I was a tomboy. I had three brothers. I was the girl with the dress on that always came back in the house filthy with scrapes and bruises. But I was always very girly. I had to be able to twirl so that my underwear showed," she said.

Asked about her best time for looking good, she praises the leftover make-up in the morning.

She feels at her best "at the end of the night, when everything's soaked in and I'm still up. I like the leftover makeup in the morning. You've got to wash your face but there's always the leftover eye makeup, I love that."

Hudson, who was nominated for a best supporting actress Oscar in 2001 for “Almost Famous,” has lately been rumored to be dating her former boyfriend Owen Wilson. The two have recently celebrated together the actress' 29th birthday in Miami.
