Well known for his public outbursts and for his anger management problems, Kanye West, the hip hop artist was taken in to custody at Los Angeles International Airport on Tuesday morning, where he and his road manager, Don Crawley were just arriving at the airport for a commercial flight to Honolulu.
Both West and Crawley were charged with felony vandalism for attacking two paparazzi and smashed a $10,000 camera, authorities said. They were released within hours from police custody on $20,000 bail each. Pending an investigation, the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office will decide whether to charge the men. For now, West is tentatively due in court Oct. 2.
In the incident was involved a photographer, who’s camera was grabbed by West himself and then thrown to the ground. And as the “being at the right place at the right time” thing never fails, a cameraman from the celebrity Web site TMZ.com was there in time to get it all on tape, which seemed to grind Kanye’s gears and his manager’s also.
As the cameramen wouldn’t stop filming, even after Crawley ordered him to do so, another piece of expensive equipment went face-down on the ground. "The assistant then grabbed the camera, ripped off the mic and viewfinder and smashed it to the ground," said the report on TMZ.
At the trial, the rapper slash camera exterminator will probably try to pull an Armani-suit-and-obedient-look scheme, but if the judge is not a fan, Kanye might sing his new single “Love Lockdown” from a very inspirational place. Especially since he is the man who once posed for The Rolling Stones magazine cover as Jesus
found himself in a rather sinful position. Behind bars, to be exact.
