Rapper Kanye West will reportedly collaborate with Comedy Central to launch a new program which doesn’t have a name yet, but was described as "hip-hop meets the Muppets."
The pilot episode of the new show was already filmed, media reports said. The music of the show is Kanye West’s and he was also the host. However, if the program is commissioned like the “Muppets” it will have a new host every week.
The project called Alligator Boots will most likely hit TV screens next year if all goes according to plan. The show will also feature original songs by West’s fellow Chicago MC Rhymefest.
The production company of talk show host Jimmy Kimmel (writer of South Park) is reportedly involved in project Alligator Boots as well.
However, a hip-hop Muppet show wouldn’t be a first for Kanye West. A puppet version of the rapper appeared in a recent video of his song Champion. The video was released during the Beijing Olympics and pictured Kanye West’s puppet competing in the 100m sprint.
Kanye West will soon finish his fourth album. According to the latest rumors it will be called 808s and Heartache. The LP’s first single – Love Lockdown – was premiered by the rapper at this year’s VMAs.
