Grammy Award-winning singer Justin Timberlake wins style rave in the March issue of GQ magazine, as the publication chose the performer to lead a list of the “10 most Stylish Men in America.”

 

Although the magazine recognized 28-year-old Justin Timberlake for his major influence on fashion, eagerness to stand out and “knack for targeting trends” such as three-piece suits, skinny ties, beards and exquisite hats, the artist gave his stepfather the credit for his style in clothes.

 

In addition, the honor came just in time for Justin Timberlake and the clothing line he launched a couple of years ago together with his friend, Trace Ayala. The line, William Rast, is hitting the runway at the semi-annual New York Fashion Week for its second jaunt.

 

Justin Timberlake told the men’s magazine that he obtained his sense of fashion with the help of his stepfather, Paul Harless, a banker who used to put up an outfit for the next morning every evening and went to work resembling “Richard Gere in [American] Gigolo.” The heartthrob pop singer also told GQ that he considered model Kate Moss a true style icon because she “could put a barrel on and it would be some sort of statement.”

 

With regard to his signature trend of mixing suits and sneakers, Justin Timberlake said it was more a matter of sensibleness than design and that he used to wear sneakers because he was unable to sway in other shoes.

 

Other celebrities whose names were among the “10 most Stylish Men in America” were Mark Ronson, who came in second, photographer Alex Lubomirski, who took third place, Kanye West, T.I., Jason Schwartzman and Andre Balazs.
