Julianna Margulies Marries

“ER” actress Julianna Margulies, who is expecting her first child, married last Saturday, it was revealed by People magazine this weekend.

Julianna is about 7-months pregnant with her first baby and the happy-mom-to-be changed her status to “married” more than a week ago, People magazine reveals on its website. The 41-year-old thespian wed lawyer Keith Lieberthal in Massachusetts last weekend, her rep confirmed.

People.com reports Julianna wore a white Narciso Rodriguez gown and Lieberthal wore a black Armani suit at their Nov. 10 wedding in Lenox, Mass. The baby, due in mid-January, will be the first for the couple.

The actress’s dad, Paul Margulies, told People: “It was all traditional. It was very touching. She was radiant. It was beautiful. We're thrilled for her, and the young man she married is a wonderful person. We're proud to have him as a part of our family.”

The newlyweds did not follow the ceremony with a traditional honeymoon, as her father revealed that the two had to fly back to California, where Julianna is working on her new TV series, “Canterbury's Law.”

The actress became famous with her role as Nurse Carol Hathaway on the NBC medical drama “ER.” She was on the show for six years, from 1994 to 2000, and received multiple Emmy nominations for her performance. She won an Emmy in 1994.

Julianna was part of the original cast of actors, which included Anthony Edwards as Dr. Mark Greene, George Clooney as Dr. Doug Ross, Sherry Stringfield as Dr. Susan Lewis, Noah Wyle as medical student John Carter, and Eriq La Salle as Dr. Peter Benton. Her character and that of George Clooney were involved in a relationship that resulted in their having twins.

Since leaving “ER,” Julianna has starred in “Evelyn” alongside Pierce Brosnan and “Ghost Ship” with Gabriel Byrne, as well as the 2001 TNT miniseries “The Mists of Avalon,” joining a cast which included Anjelica Huston, Joan Allen, Samantha Mathis, Michael Byrne and Michael Vartan.

She has also appeared on television series such as “Scrubs,” “The Sopranos,” and “The Lost Room.”

“Canterbury's Law” is an upcoming legal drama, scheduled to air on FOX in 2008. Julianna’s co-stars will be Aidan Quinn, Ben Shenkman and Keith Robinson.
