Friday, TMZ.com was ordered to take out the clips from
Verne Troyer’s sex tape. The federal judge issued a temporary restraining order
against TMZ and interdicted promoter Kevin Blatt and SugarDVD to sell or distribute the 50-minute video,
reported the Los Angeles Times. All
copies of the tape must be returned. he

U.S. District Judge Philip Gutierrez said that the
release of the tape would cause damage to the actor’s image. Tracy Rane,
Troyer’s attorney said that her client was satisfied with the judge’s decision.
The Associated Press reported that Troyer’s publicist Melissa Bergera said the
actor was “extremely distraught by the recent exploitation of his private
life.”
Troyer said that the tape, which showed the actor and his
ex-girlfriend Renae Schrider having sex, was stolen from his home several
months ago and was not supposed to become public. Wednesday, TMZ broadcast
several clips from the sex video and also posted some on its website. Friday,
the clips were removed by TMZ, from the judge’s orders.
This order is temporary and expires on July 7.
Troyer isn’t the first to deal with this kind of scandal.
His predecessors Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee, Paris Hilton, Colin Farrell,
they all have been through this type of exposure. Some of them (Anderson and
Lee) actually agreed to have the tape released.
The Los Angeles Times reported that SugarDVD’s website stated that it was in possession of “one
of the most shocking and controversial celebrity sex tapes to date,” but it
also said that the tape would not be made public unless “Verne gives his
consent.”
Troyer’s recent movie was “The Love Guru,” where he
played the part of Coach Punch Cherkov. Other projects are “Run for the Money,”
“Bubble Boy” and some short appearances in “Half & Half,” “Sabrina, the
Teenage Witch” and many others.
