Judas Priest will headline the inaugural Metal Masters Tour
this summer, which will also feature Heaven & Hell, Motorhead and Testament,
a line-up that is sure to make many a rocker’s dream come true.
The fifteen-date U. S.
tour kicks off August 6 at the Susquehanna
Bank Center
in Camden, New Jersey. Tickets go on sale to the public
beginning this weekend at www.livenation.com.
One person who is already eager to see the promising show is
Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford, who told Billboard.com: “We insisted on a
classic metal package which is what we've got - I will enjoy seeing all the
bands.”
Judas Priest plans to perform its upcoming album, “Nostradamus,”
in its entirety during a fall headlining tour, but the band will debut some of
the new songs during “Metal Masters,” Billboard adds.
Hartford
says the “Metal Masters” sets will feature “a combination of Priest classics -
including songs from our catalog never before played live.”
Heaven & Hell joins the trek in support of “The Rules Of
Hell,” a five-CD box set available July 22 from Rhino Records, which features
re-mastered versions of all four Dio-era Black Sabbath albums (1980’s “Heaven
& Hell,” 1981’s “Mob Rules,” 1982’s “Live Evil” and 1992’s “Dehumanizer”).
On April 29, Testament releases “The Formation of Damnation”
via Nuclear Blast. The album marks the first time that most of the band’s
original lineup have recorded an all-new studio album since 1992’s “The Ritual.”
Motorhead will thrill fans with music spanning more than
three decades and perhaps a taste of a new studio album which is slated for an
August release.
