Josh Brolin, Jeffrey Wright And Film Crew Arrested

Several crew members filming Oliver Stone’s “W,” including Josh Brolin and Jeffrey Wright, were arrested during a bar fight Saturday morning in Shreveport, police said.

According to the Associated Press, Shreveport police Sgt. Willie Lewis said that Brolin, Wright and five other crew members were arrested around 2 a.m. at the “Stray Cat” bar.

It seems Brolin and Wright interfered with police officers who were called to break up a disturbance caused by one of their colleagues, 29-year-old Eric Felland, a lighting technician. Felland was collared for public intoxication and resisting arrest, authorities informed. According to a Shreveport police patrol report, ten officers were needed to end the conflict.

Besides Felland, the other members of the “W” crew were taken into custody and charged with intervening in a police mission, which is a misdemeanor.

City Jail booking records reveal that Brolin had to hand over to police $130, as well as his driver’s license, a cell phone, a belt, a lighter, a ring, his wallet and watch. He was released from jail after posting a $334 cash bond, and was able to recover his belongings.

The 40-year-old actor appeared in three films last year: “In the Valley of Elah,” “American Gangster” and best-picture Oscar winner “No Country for Old Men.”

“W” began filming in May in Shreveport, with Brolin playing the role of President Bush and Wright that of Secretary of State Colin Powell.

Co-stars of the two include Elizabeth Banks, who plays first lady Laura Bush, Ellen Burstyn, James Cromwell, and Thandie Newton as Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

“W” is Oliver Stone’s third presidential movie, coming after “Nixon” and “JFK.” Stone said that his latest film was not intended to be against Bush, but only to create, as he told Daily Variety, “a fair, true portrait of the man.”
