Live Nation announced on Thursday that they’ve signed a
two-year contract with the teen band Jonas Brothers.
The trio signed a deal of multimillion-dollars with Live
Nation that will put them in 140 theatres and arenas around the world.
They will start their first world tour at TCC Music Hall
in Tucson, Arizona on January 31.
Bruce Kapp, senior VP of touring for Live Nation, said about
Jonas Brothers: "This band creates pandemonium wherever they go. They sell
out dates instantly and always leave their loyal fans wanting more,"
eonline.com reports.
The three brothers raised in New Jersey, Joe, 18; Kevin, 20;
and Nick, 15 had a sold out tour in the fall when they opened for Hannah Montana’s
Best of Both Worlds tour, played on the Disney Channel show by Miley Cyrus,
Reuters said.
They too are signed with Walt Disney Co's Hollywood Records
and are about to tape their own sitcom. They will play the roles of pop stars
who are secret agents.
In August their self titled album reached number 5 on the
Billboard 200. They want to release by September their second album.
They will have a tour bus-studio at their disposal so they
can create while on tour.
The tour is named after their latest single, “Look Me in the
Eyes.”
They’ve performed on Monday on Dick Clark's New Year's
Rocking Eve and on January 21 they are invited at The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The tickets for the tour will be put on sale on January 12.
The band released a statement in which they expressed their
opinion towards Live Nation. They said: "The level of commitment and
passion that everyone at Live Nation has shown for our band has been inspiring.
Together we are going to bring our show to millions of our fans around the
world. We couldn't be more excited about our future together."
Live Nation also signed in October a deal of $120 million
with Madonna for albums, tours, and promotion.
