John Travolta's Son Gets Private Scientology Memorial

Final arrangements were made for Jett Travolta's private funeral service, which will be held in Ocala, Florida where they are active and loved members of the community.

After doctors in the Bahamas performed an autopsy on Jett Travolta's body on Monday his body was cremated and returned to his family, who will be joined by close friends Thursday afternoon to say goodbye to the 16-year-old, who tragically passed away last week while vacationing with his parent in the Bahamas. Although results of the autopsy were not made public, a Bahamas undertaker said the teen's death certificate had "seizure" as the cause of death.

The home of John Travolta was flooded with wreaths of flowers, candles and messages of goodwill from friends and locals ahead of the Scientology ceremony.

Speaking to ABC News, Ocala Mayor Randy Ewers said the entire community reached out to the mourning family, showing their support, also trying to respect their privacy as much as possible, and help them through the painful process.

"It's a very sad time for them. If they need anything from us we have offered that. We're just trying to help during this time and help them through this tragedy," Ewers told ABCNews.com.

Neighbor Rich Koepsel told the local Ocala Star-Banner the Travoltas are considered just as "normal neighbors" who want to be treated like any other family in the community. He also said everyone could see the close relationship between the parents and their children.

Koepsel described Jett as a fun-loving kid who enjoyed the outdoors, either riding around in a golf cart, pedaling his three-wheeled bicycled or going for a ride with his father in one of Travolta's antique cars or his ultra-light airplane.

Celebrity friends of the Travoltas, such as Oprah Winfrey, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes sent their condolences but will not attend the funeral, contrary to recent reports.

Scientology followers, which include the 54-year-old actor and his wife, actress Kelly Preston, believe that humans are immortal spirits - or "thetan beings" - who have lived many times. The few mourners who will attend today's Scientology service for John Travolta's late son will likely be told that a "chapter of his life is closed."

The main focus of the ceremony will probably be on thanking the departed for spending time with the people close to him, praising or acknowledging his life attributes or achievements and bidding him farewell, wishing Jett well in his future existence.

There are no words to describe the pain John Travolta and his wife are feeling, but his religion was what helped Travolta deal with the deaths of his parents.

"Life is overwhelming. Life is not easy. Life is tough," Travolta told CNN's Larry King. "And you need something that really works and helps you actually, not promises to help you, then fail. And that's why I've always loved Scientology, because it offers help, and it works."
