Wednesday,
September 24, presidential nominee John McCain was supposed to appear on the “Late
Show,” a late-night talk show hosted by David Letterman.
Nevertheless,
the candidate had to cancel the appearance, in order to attend to issues that
the economic crisis had given rise to. Letterman, annoyed at having been stood
up by his scheduled guest, especially after he had found out that McCain had
only left New York on Thursday and had also honored Katie Couric’s invitation
to a televised interview on CBS, expressed his feelings by verbally lashing out
at him during his show the following day.
On Sunday,
CBS informed that John McCain was to appear on the “Late Show” this Thursday,
October 16, only one day after the final presidential debate.
The latter will
take place at Hofstra University
on Long Island, the candidates being scheduled to focus
their speech on domestic policy.
This up-coming appearance will count as the thirteenth time McCain has been on
Letterman’s show since he officially accepted the Republican Party’s nomination to
run for president of the United States.
David
Letterman, 61, an American comedian and talk-show host, has become a household
name where late night television is concerned, having made his debut in the
business back in 1982 on „Late
Night with David Letterman.”
Arizona senior
United States Senator John McCain has been nominated at the 2008
Republican National Convention in September 2008 by the GOP to candidate for
president of the U.S. He is running against Democratic Party’s nominee Barack
Obama.
