Oops, republican presidential candidate John McCain did it
again. After singing about bombing Iran, now he makes a joke about cigarettes
meant to kill Iranians. At least he intended to be a joke.
According to The Associated Press, a reporter from the
agency asked John McCain about a report which showed that $158 million in
cigarettes have been sent to Iran
during George W. Bush's presidency, despite that U.S. had exports restrictions to
that country.
The presidential candidate, who was with his wife at the Primanti
Brothers restaurant, said that it could have been a “way of killing them,”
adding that he intended it to be a joke.
“Maybe that's a way of killing them. I meant that as a joke,
as a person who hasn’t had a cigarette in 28 years,” said John McCain,
according to The Associated Press. His wife corrected him, saying it had been
29 years.
He also said that it was the first time he heard about the
situation and he would have a better answer next time, after he would examine
the issue more thoroughly.
Last year, at a campaign meeting in South
Carolina, John McCain was asked if there was a plan to attack Iran. He began singing:
“Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran,”
after the song “Barbara Ann.”
