Joanna Pacitti, an “American Idol” contestant and a former child star, has been eliminated from the television show, seemingly by virtue of her past in the music industry.
Pacitti, 23, had been previously listed among the Top 36 contestants in the show’s episode that was broadcast on Wednesday, yet when Fox issued a news release later that day, the woman’s name was nowhere to be found on the Top 36.
A Fox television statement revealed that Joanna Pacitti had been found ineligible to continue taking part in the talent show, while it also added that Felicia Barton had replaced her in the televised competition.
During past weeks, Idol fans have been voicing their opinions concerning a previous record deal clinched by Pacitti and her role in a professional production of „Annie,” which many have deemed as criteria rendering her ineligible for the show, which aims at discovering new talents.
Moreover, last week, tabloid Star magazine informed that Pacitti had had more professional experience than it had initially been considered.
Furthermore, the magazine also stated that the woman had connections with two executives from 19 Entertainment, which is the company producing the „American Idol” show.
Star also reported that Pacitti had credited one of the 19 executives on notes for the album she released back in 2006, entitled „This Crazy Life.”
„American Idol” rules state that contestants are not allowed to have a current recording deal or some other talent management agreements.
