After several relationships with some of Hollywood’s most
famous men, Jessica Simpson seems to have eventually found happiness with
Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo.
The singer has recently told People magazine
that Romo was “the one” for her, the perfect guy that she awaited for so long.
“I just told him today, 'You're the love of my life,'” she
confesses in the latest cover story. “I don't really ever say that to anybody.”
Since she divorced from musician Nick Lachey, Simpson has
been linked with several stars such as Johnny Knoxville, John Mayer, or Adam
Levine, but she couldn’t call any of them the love of her life. Her ex-husband
was luckier, as he managed to find a new girlfriend soon after their divorce in
2005.
Lachey met Vanessa Minnillo and things between evolved
quickly, with the couple moving together in New York City. And now there are
rumors that the two might soon be heading down the aisle.
Although she felt very hurt to see Lachey’s relationship
with Minnillo develop, Simpson seems to be over that now. She actually said
that, in a sign of devotion for her beloved Romo, she changed her cell phone
number as well as her e-mail address, so that none of her past loves can
contact her in any way.
The 28-year-old singer said she was not jealous that Romo
did not make the same move, although Romo’s ex, Carrie Underwood, recently said
in an interview that she still was in touch with him.
During the interview with People, Simpson also admits that
the troubles she had in the relationship with Mayer affected her a lot.
“I had to regain self-esteem and self-value,” she says.
