Jessica Simpson is reportedly feeling "much better" and was released from the hospital after she checked herself into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles over the weekend presenting symptoms of a kidney infection.

The 27-year-old singer/actress was hospitalized for a "minor kidney infection" on Friday after coming down with a fever, Simpson's representative Lauren Auslander told The Associated Press.

"She had a minor kidney infection," a source said. "She went in on Friday."

In the meantime, Simpson's boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, couldn't be with her at the hospital as he had prior commitments in Dallas.

Earlier this month, Simpson briefly visited Iraq where she performed for the U.S. troops as a part of the Operation MySpace.
