Jessica Simpson thought to be sincere and talk about her
relationship with singer John Mayer and about what she went through in some
periods of her life. The singer was not shy at all to say that John Mayer
helped her progress, even if she felt that she had to be “artsier” and “more intellectual”
while being with him.
“John believed in the Jessica Simpson that's within. He
cherished our love. He helped make me the woman I am today,” the singer told
Elle magazine.
Speaking about her life after the divorce with Nick Lachey
in 2005, the singer said that she experienced “a lot of pain,” adding that she didn’t
try to change her life like she should have.
“I was going through a lot of pain. I didn't try anything to
change my life other than dating different types of guys and conforming to
their worlds,” said Jessica Simpson.
Moving to more delicate matters, the singer confessed that
her song “Remember That” from her new album referred to an older experience of
her when she was abused. The song contains the lyrics “It doesn't matter how he
hurts you / With his hands or with his words / You don't deserve it / It ain't
worth it / Take your heart and run.”
“I have definitely experienced abuse in a way that I would
tell people to take their heart and run,” said Jessica Simpson, adding that she
didn’t want to talk about the experience.
At the moment Jessica Simpson is dating Cowboys quarterback
Tony Romo, 27. She said that Tony understood her.
“Tony understands me. He appreciates my talent. He's the
first person I've spiritually connected with. I'm a girl that loves to be in
love. I love love,” said Jessica Simpson for the September issue of Elle
magazine.
The singer will release her new album “Do You Know” on September
9. She said that every song on the album is something that she went through at
some point in her life.
“There's nothing on my album that you're gonna hear that I
don't relate to or that I haven't experienced.”
