Jessica Alba Loses Tooth For Art's Sake

Beautiful actress Jessica Alba is not one to shy away from making sacrifices for a movie – or from making fun of herself.

The very pretty 26-year-old actress currently stars in the romantic comedy “Good Luck Chuck,” alongside Dane Cook. But filming for “Chuck” did not go without incidents.

She says one particular scene proved especially difficult between Dane and herself, as they managed to trip and chip one tooth each.

“We were doing this comedic ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ love scene, and we were slamming into walls and breaking things and tumbling over couches and stuff,” she said. “At one point, he slammed my head into a picture frame and, while my head was smacking into the wall and breaking the picture, his teeth slammed into my teeth.”

The result? She chipped her front tooth and he chipped his bottom tooth. Jessica is not distraught though over the accident, saying that she can “be somebody else for a little while.”

“It's like a disguise,” the actress concludes.

“Good Luck Chuck,” directed by Mark Helfrich, opens nationwide Sept. 21.

Dane’s character, Chuck, is a man with a curse – literally. Any woman that sleeps with him once will then meet her true love. Chuck appreciates the curse as a gift for a while, enjoying his flourishing love life, until he meets Cam Wexler, a clumsy animal trainer he falls in love with.

Jessica Alba previously starred on the FOX sci-fi TV series “Dark Angel” from 2000 to 2002. Other notable roles are the exotic dancer Nancy Callahan in “Sin City” and Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman in “Fantastic Four” and its sequel, “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.”

Jessica will also appear in the upcoming “Sin City 2” and in David Moreau’s “The Eye,” slated for a 2008 release.
