While Jermaine Dupri was hosting a “beautiful” and “loving”
party, an unfortunate event happened. Someone began shooting…with real guns.
Except for a security guard who had his elbow grazed by a bullet, nobody else
was hurt. According to People magazine, police spokesman Marcus Hodge confirmed
the fact that none of the celebrities who attended the party were hurt.
But who attended the party? Artists like Sean “Diddy” Combs,
Nelly, and Usher were on stage when the incident occurred. Also actress
Gabrielle Union, Larenz Tate, Regina King, Bow Wow and Nia Long were at the
party which was taking place at Club Dream, on Saturday.
The gunfire shots were heard early Sunday, around 3:30 a.m.
when some club guests got mad because they were double-charged by staff to gain
access to the VIP area, where all the celebrities were. A representative for So
So Def Summerfest Weekend called the shooting “an isolated incident.” Yes,
these kinds of incidents only happen when people who own guns get mad.
While the celebrities were protected by their bodyguards who
took them outside the club, the rest of the guests had to stay inside the club
about an hour and a half, during the police investigation. Isn’t that nice…
I think the most terrible thing was the fact that the party
had to suffer a minor interruption..and also the fact that artist Jermaine Dupri was
saddened by the incident.
“I'm sad this incident happened because it interrupted a
beautiful and loving party. But I'm happy none of my people or friends got
hurt. And the party continues,” said Dupri, according to People. As long as the
party continues…who cares what happened.
The party, which marked the beginning of Jermaine Dupri’s
third annual So So Def Summerfest Weekend, was attended by almost 3,000 people.
DeKalb
County police spokesman
Marcus Hodge said that nobody was arrested.
