As we’ve all noticed, Jennifer
Lopez’s life is full of challenges. In her case, she started motherhood with
twins, meaning two bundles of joy, but twice more care and attention. Moreover,
she is now trying to regain her fitness. And she’s not taking the usual way,
gym, personal trainer, etc, etc. She is preparing to deal with a triathlon.
The singer/actress and mother of
Max and Emme is going to take part in a triathlon that is due to take place on
September 14 in Malibu, California. The idea of participating in
such a competition came to J-Lo when she was pregnant in her third semester.
“I was beached… like a whale, and
I was watching TV and I saw a triathlon and I said, ‘You know what? I think I
could do that. That would be great for me to do, maybe I’ll do it this year,”
the artist said. Jenny from the Block further explained that everybody thought
(and also expressed their belief aloud) that she was out her mind.
Of course, apart from regaining
her curvy shape, J-Lo will take part in the Malibu
competition for charity – she is raising money for the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Fans are invited to donate
money, follow closely her progress and also read her blog on the official site
of Self magazine.
Her idea and effort is supported
by the before mentioned Self and its editor-in-chief Lucy Danziger. J-Lo has
already earned an impressive honor, she is one of Self magazine’s 10 Most
Inspiring Woman of 2008. She is also the cover model of the September issue of
the magazine.
During an interview from New York's Central Park
Monday on “Good
Morning America,” J-Lo explained that the most difficult part is hitting the
water. “The swimming is a killer, I’m not gonna lie,” she said,
half-jokingly. “I’m a good athlete. I feel like my stamina — I can get it up
there if I work really hard, but the swimming, swimming’s a killer.” But J-Lo
is fully determined to make a good figure at the triathlon, “If I have to crawl
across that finish line, I’m going to crawl across that finish line,” she
joked.
But the worst drawback of the
training for the big event and challenge is spending time apart from her baby
twins. Fortunately, her hubby, singer Marc Anthony fully supports her. He even
arranged that J-Lo have a spot in their home when she can use a treadmill and a
computerized biking program.
As the singer disclosed, Emme and
Max have been taken care of only by their parents. The couple tried as much as
they could not to hire a nanny, however, given that she plans on getting back
to work, they are considering the alternative. “… because I’m gonna be going
back to work and do a film, later in the year, so I’m trying to find somebody,
but we’ve been doing it by ourselves and we love it. It’s awesome,” the 39-year
old mommy said.
