Jennifer Lopez’s father just confirmed what the media has been speculating since the beginning of her pregnancy: his daughter will be giving birth to twins!
"Yes, twins,” JLo’s father, David Lopez, said during an interview on the Spanish Language show Escandalo TV, “The thing is in my family, my sister also had twins, so it's a hereditary thing. I'm very proud. Jennifer has yearned to be a mother for many years.”
Many media outlets have reported that the 38-year-old singer was going to have twins long before she officially confirmed the pregnancy.
While Lopez hasn’t disclosed the sex of the babies, he did talk about the presents he already got for them, especially now with his daughter’s due date nearing.
“In Puerto Rico it’s custom to buy an azabache [black stone] bracelet for babies to protect them from the evil eye, it’s part of our culture.”
The singer and her husband first announced they are expecting in November, when Jennifer’s baby bump was already impossible to hide.
In spite of the numerous reports claiming Jennifer checked in a Long Island hospital last month and was preparing to give birth, sources close to the star claim she is scheduled for a caesarean section next week.
Last week Anthony, who already has two children from a previous marriage, revealed his fears about missing the birth because of work commitments.
”I've been with her 24 hours a day, and I'm going to be away from her for just a few hours" said the 39-year-old. "She can't go into labor during that time. I mean, I'm praying that doesn't happen.”
