Us Weekly has interesting details to report about Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s four-year marriage, their solo appearances and obviously missing wedding rings in public explained as the tip of the iceberg.
Us Weekly reports there is trouble in the Lopez-Anthony paradise in its new issue, out on newsstands Thursday, Dec. 18, quoting “multiple sources” who have inside information regarding this particular celebrity union. Lopez and Anthony have not been seen together in public since Oct. 23; they have been seen enjoying their time solo and without wedding rings and this can only mean one thing: there is a crisis in their marriage and Us has managed to slip behind the scenes.
A “mutual pal” of the couple’s tells the magazine they are not wearing their rings on purpose, as “nothing Jennifer does is without purpose.”
Another pal says Anthony is very controlling of his wife, picking her clothes out for her (longer skirts for example) and checking her telephone calls. While his opinions mattered greatly to her at one time, she is now more focused on the babies. The couple welcomed twins Emme and Max in February of this year. She is reported to be the more involved parent of the two.
Another factor weighing unfavorably in their marriage is Lopez’s alleged dissatisfaction with the evolution of her career. She and Anthony took their collaboration to the professional level as well, touring together last year and starring in the biopic “El Cantante,” about Puerto Rican salsa singer Héctor Lavoe.
Lopez has long been one of Hollywood’s highest-earning actresses, commanding $15 million per film. “El Cantante” performed poorly at the box office, earning only $7.5 million, when Lopez had previously basked in such box office success as her 2002 romantic comedy “Maid in Manhattan,” which earned over $94 million.
