Marc Anthony has been named alongside wife Jennifer Lopez in
a lawsuit originally filed by a flight attendant last June over an alleged
canine attack, reports the New York Daily News.
The incident allegedly occurred on July 3, 2006, when
Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony and their German shepherd guard dog Floyd boarded
a Gulfstream IV flight from Republic Airport in Farmingdale, L.I., to Burbank, Calif.
According to court papers filed in June last year in Brooklyn
Federal Court, Floyd jumped at one flight attendant for NetJets Inc. during the
flight, when she walked past its place, “attacking her and biting her pant
leg.”
The flight attendant, 40-year-old Lisa Wilson, fell and
suffered a serious back injury as a result of the attack, William Cafaro, her Manhattan lawyer, told
the Daily News. She has been unable to work since.
The court papers add that Jennifer Lopez had instructed Wilson how to behave
around the dog prior to boarding the plane.
Wilson
originally filed her lawsuit against the singer/actress and only recently added
her husband’s name, upon learning that Marc Anthony is the registered owner of
the dog, Cafaro told the Daily News.
Cafaro also said the superstar couple should have handled
the situation differently, that is to place a muzzle or leash on Floyd and warn
Wilson that she
should stay away from the dog.
Lisa Wilson is seeking $5 million in damages from Lopez and
her company, Nuyorican Productions.
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have been married since June
2004. They are parents to 6-month–old twins Max and Emme. The babies were
introduced to the world in early March, by way of a special People magazine
edition.
Their proud parents reportedly received $6 million for the
exclusive photo shoot, just $1 million more than the injured flight attendant
is asking for…not that Lopez and Anthony lack the means to pay up – if found
guilty.
