Jennifer Lopez managed to cross the finish line of the Nautica Malibu Triathlon on Sunday in two hours, 23 minutes and 38.8 seconds.
The 39-year-old singer/actress crossed the finish line with a broad smile on her face. As she completed the swimming-running-biking event, Lopez thanked the crowd and described the event as “an amazing day.”
"I feel really great and so glad I finished and that I made it out of the water but more amazing than that, I feel really great that we raised $127,000 for the Children's Hospital and hopefully it'll go to good use," Lopez added.
The triathlon gathered a total sum of $950,000 for the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.
Mark Anthony cheered on the sidelines as his “super woman” wife was nearing the finish line. The two kissed between the running and the biking parts of the event.
The sporting event had a VIP section where Matthew McConaughey had yet another opportunity to take his shirt off.
After the race was over, J Lo and her husband joined their family and Matthew McConaughey. The actor crossed the finish line before J Lo and was awaited by his girlfriend Camila Alves and their newborn son Levi.
The Latino singer said she thought of taking part at this triathlon while eight months pregnant with twins (Max and Emme). Lopez gave birth in February.
When asked about the actual race and how she handled the effort, Lopez admitted that swimming was “a killer.” But she was very determined to cross the finish line, even if she had to crawl past it, she said.
Lopez and Anthony returned to NYC after the triathlon to celebrate the singer’s 40th birthday.
The list of VIP participants at the triathlon included tennis player Anna Kournikova and actors Felicity Huffman, William H. Macy, and Jon Cryer.
