Friday
afternoon, Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother were found shot to death
at the mother’s home on the South Side of Chicago, the police having stated at that
time that they were looking for Hudson’s 7-year-old nephew. The latter, named Julian
King, had been reported missing Friday morning.
Authorities have confirmed that one of the victims was Darnell
Hudson Donerson, aged 57, mother to Jennifer Hudson and Jason S. Hudson, 29,
who has been reported as having been the second victim of the shoot-out.
The TMZ website informed that the nephew could be with William
Balfour, the husband of Hudson’s sister, Julia, the man having listed Darnell
Hudson’s home in Chicago as his place of residence within the last year. The
police are now searching for Balfour, as well, who according to the
aforementioned site, is on parole after he served time for attempted murder.
Neighbors of the family stated that they had heard gun
shots early Friday morning, but that the police had been called by a family member in the afternoon.
In addition, authorities revealed that they had found no
signs of forced entry, thus they believed the murders to have been the
aftermath of a domestic fight.
Deputy police chief Joseph Patterson told the media that Ms.
Hudson’s body had been found on the living room floor, while her son’s body had
been discovered in the bedroom.
Recent reports have revealed that the Chicago police had
taken William Balfour, 27, into custody, but that Jennifer Hudson’s nephew
Julian had not been found with the man.
The Amber Alert issued for the 7-year-old boy informed that
King is 4 feet, 11 inches tall, weighs 130 pounds and has brown eyes and
black hair. Also, he is wearing a brown, striped polo shirt and khaki pants.
