Oscar winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson’s mother
and brother were found dead in their home on the South Side of Chicago this
Friday. They had been gunned down. Prime suspect William Balfour who apparently
lived in the same house as Hudson’s
mother has been taken into custody but is refusing to co-operate. Julian King, Hudson’s 7-year-old
nephew is still missing and authorities have issues an AMBER Alert.
The bodies of Jennifer’s fifty seven year old mother,
Darnell Donerson, and her twenty nine year old brother Jason Hudson were found
by a cousin at 2:44 PM. Neighbors report hearing gunshots around 9 A.M. The
fire department came first, and upon discovering the bodies, called in the
Police who declared the area a crime scene.
Twenty seven years old William Balfour, who is married to
Julia Hudson, Jennifer’s sister and mother of Julian, has been picked up by
police within the hour at an unknown location, and he won’t tell authorities
where the child is. He is the prime suspect in the investigation due to being
on parole after serving jail time for attempted murder, according to the Illinois department of
Corrections.
There has also been an altercation between Balfour and the
rest of the family involving a stolen car, according to neighbors. Julia’s
MySpace page has a picture hinting at William selling her car away.
An AMBER alert has been issued for Hudson’s nephew. This child abduction bulletin
was issued in the United States
and Canada,
and named after Amber Hagerman, a 9-year-old child abducted and killed in 1996.
It broadcasts messages via commercial radio stations, satellite radio, television
stations, and cable TV as well as e-mail, LED billboards and other means.
The AMBER alert for Julian King is still active. The child’s
description follows
-
7 years old
-
4’11”
-
Weighs 130 lbs
-
Brown eyes/black hair
-
Medium complexion
-
Last seen wearing a tan or kaki polo shirt with the
number 5 on it and kaki pants
Police are also looking for a 1994 white Suburban with the license
plate number X584859, which they believe may be near the child’s location. They
also believe a second car may be involved, a Teal or Green Chrysler Concorde
with temporary Illinois
plates, the number of which is 332K823. The car is scratched on its left side,
and the left headlight is hanging out. If you have any information that could
lead to the whereabouts of Julian King, contact Police immediately. Statistics
show that the longer an abducted child remains missing, the lower the chances
are for his or her being found alive again.
The whereabouts of the child’s mother, Julia Hudson, are
unknown. She works as a bus driver in Chicago.
Her employer says she worked her shift today but has not been seen since.
