Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother were shot dead and her 7-year-old nephew is missing. Police investigators already have a suspect in custody.
The victims - Darnell Donerson, 57, and Jason Hudson, 29 - were found dead on Friday afternoon and the suspect was arrested a few hours later that night. The two victims were found lying dead by a member of the family who entered their home in South Side.
The man suspected in the deaths of Hudson’s relatives, William Balfour, was arrested but not charged according to the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times. According to the sayings of his mother, Balfour has been married to Hudson’s sister, Julia. After the two separated, Donerson ordered him to leave the house because she and her family wanted privacy.
The 27-year-old suspect is on parole and served about 7 years in prison for attempted murder, vehicular hijacking and possessing a stolen vehicle, according to records from the Illinois Department of Corrections.
