Friday, singer Jennifer Hudson told iconic talk-show host Oprah Winfrey that music had been her therapy after she had lost her mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew back in October last year.
Even though neither Oprah nor the Oscar-winning singer-actress mentioned anything about the deaths of the latter’s relatives during Hudson’s appearance on the show, when the host asked her how she was feeling, Jennifer said that she was really good.
Moreover, 27-year-old Hudson said that she was glad to be performing again, adding that doing what she loved was just like therapy for her.
In October last year, Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother were found shot to death at the mother’s home on the South Side of Chicago, while a few days after that, Hudson’s nephew Julian King’s body was found in the West Side neighborhood inside an SUV, where authorities also discovered the .45-caliber gun that was used in the three murders.
Later, the police charged William Balfour, the estranged husband of the singer's elder sister, Julia, with the three murders.
Hudson began her road to fame as a contestant on „American Idol,” whereas she won an Academy Award for best supporting actress for her role in the movie „Dreamgirls.”
Earlier this month, Jennifer Hudson earned Grammy for best R&B album for her self-titled 2008 release.
