Yes, there she is on the cover of Vogue, on the beach, sexy
red dress and a caption as big as her image saying, “What Angelina did was very
uncool.”
Jennifer Aniston has talked for the first time about her divorce
from Hollywood
star Brad Pitt and about his new love interest Angelina Jolie and she does not
have pretty things to say about the latter.
In an interview with Vogue magazine for its December issue,
Aniston revealed that she and Pitt had an amicable split and that they have
continued to have a warm and friendly relationship, having exchanged “a few
very kind hellos and wishing you wells and sending you love and congratulations
on your babies.”
The 39-year-old actress said she has “nothing but absolute admiration
for him” and that she is very proud of her formed husband. Aniston and Pitt
were married in July 2000 and announced their separation in January 2005. By
the time their divorce had been finalized in October 2005, Pitt had already
been snapped by the paparazzi spending time with Angelina Jolie and her then
only child Maddox.
Pitt and Jolie met and fell in love while filming the 2005
box office hit “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.” About a year ago, Vogue did a profile on
Jolie and it was then she revealed her relationship with Pitt had blossomed
during filming but denied any extramarital wrongdoing.
Referring to Jolie’s remarks to the magazine last year,
Aniston now said she thought Jolie’s choice to share such information was inadequate.
“There was stuff printed there that was definitely from a time when I was
unaware that it was happening,” Aniston said. “I felt those details were a
little inappropriate to discuss. That stuff about how she couldn’t wait to get
to work every day? That was really uncool.”
Jolie also recently told the New York Times that she and
Pitt fell in love on the set of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” in 2004.
Yet Aniston is adamant that she should not be pitied by the
public, commenting that the “whole ‘Poor lonely Jen’ thing” is unnecessary as
she personally feels she has been “unbelievably lucky in love.”
This being said, a little talk about post-Brad Pitt
relationships could not miss. Aniston said she calls actor Vince Vaughn, who
was her first boyfriend after her broken marriage, her “defibrillator,” because
he brought her back to life and made her laugh again. The two co-starred in
2006’s “The Break-Up.”
As to current boyfriend John Meyer, the actress said she and
the rocker, eight years her junior, “adore each other.” She also confessed she
feels very protective of him and that she considers him a “wonderful guy.”
Jennifer Aniston next stars in “Marley & Me” and “He’s
Just Not That Into You,” two films that both promise to fare well with critics
and audiences alike. Her co-star in the first movie is Owen Wilson, while the
second pic has an ensemble cast which includes Jennifer Connelly, Drew
Barrymore and Ben Affleck, among others.
