Jennifer Aniston has always been very diplomatic in interviews when asked about her former husband Brad Pitt's relationship with Angelina Jolie, but those times are over. In a new interview with Vogue, the actress has broken the silence about Angelina Jolie's admission that she did fall in love with Brad Pitt during the "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" movie shoot, when Aniston and Pitt were still a married couple.
Being uncharacteristically direct, Aniston told the Vogue interviewer exactly what she thought, "What Angelina did was very uncool." Initially, the actress asked the reporter Jonathan Van Meter, to turn off the tape recorder for a moment, but wanted to note her opinion on Jolie's recent remarks, Daily Mail reported.
"There was stuff printed there that was definitely from a time when I was unaware that it was happening," Aniston said. "I felt those details were a little inappropriate to discuss."
Moreover, "That stuff about how she couldn’t wait to get to work every day? That was really uncool," added the actress, who is currently promoting the movie she made with Owen Wilson. Giving the interview a little more meaning than it has already, a friend of Aniston's was quoted by Page Six as saying, "This interview shows that Jennifer is no longer afraid of Angelina. It's hugely significant."
However, The National Enquirer recently reported that Angelina secretly reached out to Jennifer Aniston after her statement went public and apologized for "falling in love with Brad Pitt while he was still married" to her.
As far as her ex-hubby is concerned, Aniston said the two have exchanged "a few very kind hellos ... and congratulations on your babies," insisting their marriage did not work out but ever since their divorce they have been "unbelievably warm and respectful of each other."
Currently involved in on-again relationship with rocker John Mayer, the 39-year-old "Friends" star said, "People need to mind their own business! Did you ever think Claudia Schiffer and David Copperfield made sense?"
"Love just shows up," she said, calling rumors that she is clingy or needy "off base."
"This whole 'Poor lonely Jen' thing, this idea that I'm so unlucky in love? I actually feel I've been unbelievably lucky in love," she added.
The pair split up in August after dating for four months. Mayer reportedly broke off the relationship because he wasn't ready to commit. They recently decided to give their romance another chance. Speaking of Mayer bragging about dumping her the first time around, Aniston said, "Trust me, you’ll never see that happen again from that man."
"Just because at this stage my life doesn't have the traditional framework to it - the husband and the two kids and the house in Connecticut - it's mine. It's my experience. And if you don't like the way it looks, then stop looking at it! Because I feel good. I don't feel like I'm supposed to be any further along or somewhere that I'm not. I'm right where I'm supposed to be," she said.
