Jennie Garth is set to reprise her role that made her
famous: Kelly Taylor from Beverly
Hills. AccessHollywood.com
announced that The CW network confirmed on Saturday that Garth will play
Kelly on the new “90210” spin-off. So far, Garth is the first original member
of the cast that joins the new series.
Several weeks ago when CW network announced its plans of
developing the new "90210" spin-off with "Veronica Mars"
creator Rob Thomas heading the project, Thomas made it clear that he
would like to have Garth on his set.
Garth was scheduled to appear in a comedy pilot put together
for CBS, "My Best Friend's Girl,", but she abruptly left the
set.
The split was described as a mutual decision between the actress and the show’s
producers. Canadian actress Kristin Booth is reportedly going to replace
her.
According to some rumors, Hillary Duff might just be the new
face of “Beverly Hills
90210”. Although there has been no confirmation from Hilary's rep or the CW, it
is believed that she will play “Annie Mills”, a Beverly Hills High student who
is into theater acting.
The original show ran for 10 years from 1990 to 2000 and
starred Jason Priestley, Luke Perry, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth and Tori
Spelling.
Reacting to the news about the upcoming "90210"
spin-off, Tori Spelling, who played Donna Martin, said she would love to be
part of the show.
