Though it has been previously reported that Hollywood actress Jennie Garth, famous for playing Kelly Taylor on the 90s teen drama "Beverly Hills, 90210," will not be joining the new 90210 spin-off, in part due to her commitments to CBS' pilot "My Best Friend's Girl," new reports claim she had a sudden change of heart regarding the pilot, fueling rumors she might be reprising her role in CW network's remake of "Beverly Hills, 90210."
Several weeks ago when CW network announced its plans of developing the new "90210" spin-off with "Veronica Mars" creator Rob Thomas heading the project, Thomas made it clear that he would like to have Garth on his set. However, the decision isn't entirely up to him, and he's got to let the network find new writers to take a second pass at the 90210 pilot script (though he will still be very much involved in the series).
According to E!Online, Garth's presence on the show hasn't been confirmed, and she will not be "seriously approached" about being cast on the series until the new script is in order and the concept is finalized. Just in case though, Garth could play a fashion design teacher on the show.
Much like the original series, which centered around the Walsh family from Minnesota, the new "90210" will also focus on a group of Midwest transplants.
"The guy who gets hired as the new principal brings his family of four from Kansas to Beverly Hills," Thomas previously told People, adding that there was a plan for bringing back one of the cast members.
Reacting to the news about the upcoming "90210" spin-off, Tori Spelling, who played Donna Martin, said she would love to be part of the show.
Garth, who is also dealing with the recent passing of her father, was scheduled to appear in a comedy pilot put together for CBS, but she abruptly left the set. The split was described as a mutual decision between the actress and the show’s producers. Canadian actress Kristin Booth is reportedly going to replace her.
