Jeffrey Ross Danced His Way Out of DWTS

The seventh season of ABC’s reality show Dancing With The Stars already had its first victims, comedian Jeffrey Ross and his partner Edyta Sliwinska, the only professional dancer to appear on all seven seasons.

With a combined score of 12 points, their cha cha cha number to Wild Cherry's "Play That Funky Music" was apparently not that entertaining to the jury, as were Jeffrey’s comedic responses. His reaction to the elimination for example, was not the usual let’s-act-like-like-we’re-not-sore-losers smile, but a very sincere and disappointed “What a nightmare!” gasp.

In return, one of the judges, Bruno Tonioli, summed up the performance in just a few words: "I haven't seen such an ungainly carnage since I saw Cloverfield in 3-D. It's just, you know, nothing really worked."

The glittery eye-patch that Jeffrey was sporting was, however, not an accessory, but a much-needed protection for his damaged cornea, as his partner scratched it by accident while rehearsing for the show on Monday afternoon. He danced without the accessory for his debut later that night, against his doctor’s orders, but wore the patch for the remainder of the show.

All the members of his supporting family were wearing matching eye-patches as a sign of solidarity. The comedian tried to make it sweeter telling Edyta “I figured your husband would poke me in the eye, not you!”

All in all, despite the mean rumors among the show’s fans, claiming that America voted the hottest bodies, not the best performances, truth is some of the remaining contestants are better than ever, especially Former “Rock Star” host Brooke Burke and partner Derek Hough, who once again led the judges' scoring, landing a 26 out of 30 points for their quick step performance.
