Comedian and talk show host Jay Leno was taken to a hospital in Los Angeles on Thursday due to an illness that remained undisclosed. This made Leno cancel the taping of "The Tonight Show" for the first time in the 17 years since he is doing the talk show.
The comedian's representative did not give any details about Mr. Leno's condition and about why he has checked into the hospital. He did say, however, that he will most likely return to work on Monday.
In a statement related to this issue, NBA said that jay Leno is doing “just fine.”
"He was kidding around with the hospital staff and running his monologue jokes by the doctors and nurses," the statement said.
Leno, 58, hasn't missed a taping of the highly-popular talk show since he started doing it in 1992. there was a show in which he did that, but then he traded places with Katie Couric, said NBC spokeswoman Tracy St. Pierre, Reuters reported.
Celebrity guests were already scheduled to visit Jay Leno. The list of visiting celebs includes actor Ryan Reynolds, celebrity animal trainer Jules Sylvester and band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, BBC News reported.
Jay Leno is slated to leave The Tonight Show in May.
