Janet Jackson "is fine" after being rushed to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Monday night where it was determined she is suffering from flu.
"Janet did go to the hospital last night due to the fact she's been suffering from this flu that's kicked a lot of people's behinds," Jackson's publicist Patti Webster was quoted by The Associated Press as saying. "She was never admitted and she is fine."
Unfortunately, the R&B singer was forced to cancel her scheduled "Saturday Night Live" performance, planned for the weekend, due to the sickness.
"SNL" has yet to announce who will join this week's host, Jonah Hill, as the replacement musical guest.
Most recently, Janet's new album, "Discipline," became #1 on Billboard's Top 200, selling over 178,000 copies. This is the artist's first No.1 album since 2001's "All For You."
In addition to the tour plans she has for later this year, the 41-year-old singer is also hoping to release a diet book by the end of the year.
"It takes you through those moments in my life up 'til now and what worked for me. And hopefully within that, if it doesn't work for them, maybe they'll find something that does work for them and a nice place for them to be content with who they are," she recently told Billboard magazine.
