Britney Spears is currently getting back to her pop-princess feet, yet this last couple of years has been nothing but bad karma for the Southern belle.

 

Her struggle with weight was never a secret, and Britney seemed to be the poster-girl for the yo-yo effect on several occasions, none of which were missed by the money-hungry tabloids, successful thanks to our voyeuristic nature.

 

Secondly, pictures and stories about her neglecting her two very young sons also surfaced in different magazines. On one occasion, Britney was photographed speeding off behind the wheel of her SUV, allegedly running away from the paparazzi. In an – again, allegedly – attempt to shield her son from the press, Britney didn’t take the time to safely place him into the baby car-seat, and simply drove off with him in her lap.

 

Another incident was just as embarrassing for Britney, and it didn’t bode well for the star in the custody battle that would ensue. Apparently, Britney tripped one day while holding one of her sons precariously with one arm. The child almost hit the pavement, when Britney’s bodyguard managed to grab hold of him and possible save his life. Her divorce from Kevin Federline and the custody battle she lost were also responsible for feeding many paparazzi and journalists for a couple of months.

 

The court finally ordered her dad, Jamie Spears, to handle her finances – the star’s father has been receiving a monthly income of $10,000 since February. Britney has re-launched her career and is even preparing a tour, something she hasn’t done in quite some time. As Jamie Spears appears to have done a more-than-decent job with his troubled, yet highly talented daughter, a Superior Court Commissioner in Los Angeles thought it was time to give the Father of the Year a raise, namely an additional $6,000 per month. In addition to that, the star’s father also got a $1,200-a-month expense account. This account is destined for an office that is meant to be kept open, where Jamie Spears and his team can deal with Britney Spears’ monetary affairs.

 

Many are of the opinion that these numbers are a bit too high, especially when you stop and think about the financial crisis we are all facing - $16,000 just to look after your daughter’s money? However, it is also true that Britney’s affairs mean more than a weekly allowance and keeping an eye on what cell phone she buys. Her record deals, her estate – all are in the care of Poppa Spears who, granted, has done a terrific job. Britney’s album “Circus,” for instance, is a guaranteed instant hit. This truly is a real comeback for the pop-star, unlike her attempted comeback at the 2007 VMAs. If she keeps this up, we might have to surrender and giver her back the tile of “pop-princess.” Best of luck, Britney!
