Jamie Lynn Spears, younger sister to pop star Britney Spears and actress in her own right, is reportedly pregnant with her second baby, after giving birth to a daughter in mid-June.

The rumor mill is busy these days with speculation that 17-year-old Nickelodeon actress Jamie Lynn Spears may be pregnant again. The National Enquire is the main source for the brand new gossip.

The young entertainer appears to be confused about sexuality and becoming pregnant, according to reports, as she thought that breastfeeding her baby would prevent her from becoming pregnant.

Ouch.

Spears is reportedly eight weeks pregnant and in total shock, as is mom Lynn Spears.

She gave birth to Maddie Briann Aldridge on June 19, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. The baby weighed 7 pounds and 11 ounces and Spears later said she had a “perfect” pregnancy and a “perfect” delivery.

The only imperfect element appears to have been the obsessive media attention lavished upon her from the moment she announced she was pregnant, in December, to giving birth, in June, and…well, up to now.

She and Maddie’s daddy, 19-year-old Casey Aldridge, have been engaged since March but have not set a date for a wedding yet. In true soap opera style, rumors swirled this summer that Aldridge has cheated on Spears, gossip they have both bothered to deny in interviews.

In early July, Jamie Lynn Spears and her 3-week-old baby appeared in a special issue of OK! magazine and the former “Zoey 101” star talked about the way her life had changed. She said taking time off from Hollywood had been a good decision and that focusing on her blooming family was most important and gratifying to her at the moment.

She proudly talked about having set routines with her baby, the washing, feeding, sleeping, and how they went on happily with their “little life.”

In a new interview for the magazine, the young parents said they have no immediate plans to marry as they are happy with the way things are right now. Aldridge added that he loved Jamie and Maddie more than anything in the world.

While speculation is ripe that Spears’ little life may now include a new baby, TMZ quotes an “unimpeachable source” who declares that the rumors are complete fabrication.

No pattern seems to surface here. Her older sister Britney Spears gave birth to son Sean Preston in Sept. 2005 and announced six months later that she was expecting her second baby, now 2-year-old Jayden James.
