New mom Jamie Lynn Spears posed for OK! magazine with her
3-week-old baby daughter Maddie and talked about the joys of experiencing
motherhood, of having a supportive fiancé and of loving to take care of her baby.
Jamie Lynn Spears, younger sister of pop star Britney
Spears, gave birth to daughter Maddie Briann Aldridge on June 19. The father is
Casey Aldridge, who she has been engaged to since March.
The young parents, 17 and 19, respectively, now share a home
with their newborn daughter and are enjoying the lessons they’ve learning on
how to take care of their bundle of joy, Jamie Lynn told OK!.
The former “Zoey 101” star confessed that taking time off from
Hollywood was
the perfect decision for her life. Her pregnancy evolved smoothly and giving
birth to her baby was much easier than she had expected.
“I had a perfect pregnancy and a perfect delivery. I was
very blessed,” the young mom said, adding that she had been told it would be an
eight- to 12-hour labor “and I was ready to have the baby in three to four
hours.”
Not only did she birth naturally and without complications but
she was so comfortable throughout the whole thing that she asked Casey if he
was ok. “We were both so excited.”
Maddie was born at Southwest Mississippi
Regional Medical
Center and weighed 7
pounds and 11 ounces. While Jamie Lynn’s announcement in December that she was
expecting her first child came as a shock, things seem to have settled now for
the teenager.
Life at home centers on bringing up Maddie: “Around here,
everyone has the same focus,” Jamie Lynn told OK!. “The focus is family, and
that's a good way to live.”
She and Casey Aldridge are engaged but no wedding date has
been set yet.
The family of three already has routines, the actress
proudly said. The baby sleeps in a bassinet in the same room as Jamie Lynn and
Casey; they wake up in the morning, the baby “gets her little bath,” then mom
gets her bath… “We have a routine, and I love routines.”
“I’ve worked one out with her, and we’re happy going about
our little life.”
