The modern Western is back on your television screen – that’s right, “24” and the alluring Jack Bauer, portrayed by the equally magnetic Kiefer Sutherland, are back on Fox.
The show is an interesting combination of a thriller, with copious amounts of international intrigue, mysterious subplots, double crossings and blind sidings. However, the show is based on the classical battle between good and evil, where both of the sides have a little of the other.
Usually, when a show goes on a break as long as “24” has, there is an initial negative reaction from the fans, followed by lengthy letters, even some protests, but in the end indifference sets in. However, things were different for “24s” fan base, which seemed to grow more into the show given the absence from screen. The break also seems to have been beneficial to the show in other respects, such as the story line and the plots, which to be invigorated.
The new season debuted a while back, in November to be exact, with a two-hour movie, which followed Jack Bauer’s move from Africa back to Washington. The series will have another debut, which will feature two more sessions of two-hour long episodes, on Sunday and Monday night.
