Jennifer Lopez has finally deigned to tell the world what the world already knows: she and husband Marc Anthony are expecting their first baby.
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony wrapped their joint concert tour Wednesday night on one very memorable note, finally admitting that the singer/actress’s growing bump is indeed nestling a baby.
“We didn't want to say anything before because we didn't want to take away from the tour, but we're expecting,” a smiling Lopez told the crowd of more than 10,000 at Miami's American Airlines Arena.
While Jennifer stopped short on her confessions after announcing impending parenthood for her and Marc, not revealing when she is due nor if she is pregnant with twins, as has been speculated, J.Lo’s announcement was apparently a surprise for her singing hubby as well.
After telling the huge crowd of her pregnancy, she turned to Marc and said, “I hope you don't mind.” To which he replied with a kiss on her now officially confirmed baby bump and said “I didn't know she was going to talk.”
The two singers married in June 2004 and have been the object of baby speculation before. Their first joint tour together, “El Concierto,” debuted in New Jersey on Sept. 29. and has been amply spiced with rumors as to Jennifer’s rather unusual stage costumes.
Marc himself added to the “Is she, isn’t she?” debate by telling a crowd at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, during one of their concerts, “It's a real personal song,” before offering fans his own rendition of Journey's “Faithfully.” He added, “This song has a whole new significance.”
Lyrics such as “They say that the road ain't no place to start a family,” had concertgoers cheering happily.
Fashion creator Roberto Cavalli also spilled the beans nicely last week, apparently unaware of the couple’s discretion on the matter, by telling People magazine that the costumes he designed this time around for Jennifer were more special.
“Well Jennifer Lopez, at this moment, she requests something very special because she is waiting for the baby,” he said serenely. “It is so complicated because every week she is getting bigger.”
There have also been reports that the 39-year-old singer is expecting twins. This she has not confirmed yet. She and Marc will have more free time to prepare for the arrival of their baby (babies?), as they have cancelled previously scheduled dates in San Diego (already on hold because of the recent wildfires) and Puerto Rico.
