Hoping to block the rumors about an impending divorce, Jennifer Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony appeared very much in love at President-elect Barack Obama’s Latino Inaugural Gala in Washington, D.C. on Sunday evening.
“He is the biggest star here, even though it's chock-full of celebrities,” Lopez said of the new president. “The night he won the election, you could feel it in the air. I was … watching him with tears in my eyes, thinking, 'Yes. Something is different. Something is happening.' We're very excited.”
Sporting an electric blue gown with a dramatic hairdo, Lopez looked radiant while her husband wore a pinstriped black suit. Unlike the Golden Globe Awards when Lopez was spotted without her wedding ring saying it didn’t go with her dress, this time her band was on the right finger.
After posing for photographers on the red carpet without showing any signs of marital distress, in spite of recent media speculation, the two singers entertained the crowd at the end of the night. Lopez introduced Anthony after making a pitch for the new president.
“Yes we can,” she said to the cheering crowd. “We all stood together and said 'Yes we will.'”
The couple was also spotted dining out at Café Milano in Washington on Monday night, as the Obama Inaugural festivities continue.
Rumored to be the most expensive and well attended presidential inauguration in history, the event was attended by Garth Brooks, Bruce Springsteen, Ben Affleck, Bon Jovi, Bono, Jennifer Nettles, Jamie Foxx, Beyonce, Rosario Dawson, Wilmer Valderrama, Tony Plana, David Archuleta, Soledad O'Brien, Alejandro Sanz, Paulina Rubio, Rosie Perez, Geraldo Rivera, Shakira, Luis Fonsi and Edward James Olmos.
