Fans of J.K Rowling will be happy to hear that one of her books, which was published in just 7 copies in 2007, will be released for the general public on December 4th. “The Tales of Beedle the Bard” is a book presenting a collection of short stories, very similar to the style in which The Brothers Grimm wrote.
In 2007, the book was only published in 7 copies, 6 of them going to Rowling’s closest friend and the 7th being bought by Amazon for $3.98. The book bought by Amazon was jewel-encrusted and contained drawings made by the author. Literary critics are generally kind with Rowling’s new book, some calling it a “literary master piece” and other claiming that without the Harry Potter series there wouldn’t be so much excitement over “The Tales of Beedle the Bard.”
J.K. Rowling is famous for creating the fictional character Harry Potter and the fascinating world of wizards, which is hidden from the normal world, which is populated by non magical people, called muggles. There is a lot of controversy over the Harry Potter series, as the huge success stirred some real envy from others. The bottom line is that, through the 7 Harry Potter books, J.K. Rowling made an entire generation of children and teenagers to step away from their computers and read a book.
From a literary point of view, Harry Potter is easy to read, but this is not necessarily a bad thing, as the books are filled with symbols and the characters are very well outlined. Rowling has been accused at some point that her books contain satanic messages and the messages that are sent to children are not really the correct ones. This is not true, as children and teenagers are exposed to a lot more by simply playing any video game on their computers or consoles.
“The Tales of Beedle the Bard” will contain 5 short stories, The Wizard and the Hopping Pot," "The Fountain of Fair Fortune," "The Warlock's Hairy Heart," "Babbitty Rabbitty and her Cackling Stump," and "The Tale of the Three Brothers”, and fans of the Harry Potter series will definitely recognize “The Tale of the Three Brothers” which was told by Hermione in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." The bok will feature an introduction and footnotes written by the author and comments by fictional character Albus Dumbledore, headmaster of Hogwarts school of magic.
J.K. Rowling is maybe the best known contemporary writer as her books were made into movies that had a very good impact on the people. “The tales of Beedle the Bard” will be bought in large numbers by fans of Harry Potter but it can also be tried out by people new to the phenomenon, as a little literature never hurt anyone.
