Isaiah Washington Isn’t Giving Up Just Yet

Officially a former cast member of ABC’s "Grey’s Anatomy," Isaiah Washington isn’t done "clearing his name" and tried once again to explain himself while a guest on CNN’s "Larry King Live."

The actor claims that if he were able to do it all over again, he would use the "n-word" instead of the anti-gay slur he used during last year’s October onset argument.

In his first interview since he was booted from the show, Washington, who was accused of referring to actor T.R. Knight using an anti-gay slur during the heated argument with "Grey’s Anatomy" star, Patrick Dempsey, said that in reality he was referring to himself.

Things almost got out of control when Dempsey arrived late for the second time and he then insisted they waited for Ellen Pompeo to arrive too, before they started working.

"I said I don't need Ellen, I can act. And that was the moment that sent it into a different zone," Washington recalled.

"(Dempsey) became unhinged, face to face, spittle in my face. I'm asking him 'why are you sceaming at me?' He became irate. By that time I pushed him out of my face and I began to say 'there's no way you're going treat me like a 'b word,' a 'p word,' or a 'f word' in front of this crew," Washington admitted, adding that he said "a lot of things I'm not really proud of."

According to Washington, he also tried to resign from the show a couple of times but eventually, the network decided to let him go last month, when the third season of "Grey’s Anatomy" ended.

"I expected something," Washington told Larry King. "I didn't know that [a firing] would happen, because I resigned. I tried to resign twice."

"I am not homophobic, no way, shape and form. I made a huge error in judgment," he added.
