Although the mortal breathed his last breath, his songs will stand the test of time, proving to be immortal.
The American soul and funk singer Isaac Hayes passed away Sunday, at the age of 65. He was found unconscious in his home located east of Memphis, Tennessee, after he suffered a deadly stroke, according to Dr. David Kraus, his family doctor. Dr. Kraus told the authorities that he had been treating the musician for high blood pressure.
This is the official cause of death as an autopsy won’t be performed. Within the coming days, a death certificate is expected to be released.
"The Hayes family is comfortable with Dr. Kraus' recommendation to not conduct an autopsy," Shelby County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Schular said.
With his evergreen melodies, Hayes left a deep-rooted mark on the music world. He produced one of the most distinctive songs ever, songs that will be heard in his fans’ ears forever.
The musical genius’s ’71 album “Black Moses” is undoubtedly a masterpiece. Besides "Never Gonna Give You Up" and “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again,” the album, Heyes’ most personal, also includes covers of songs by The Carpenters ((They Long to Be) Close to You), The Friends of Distinction (“Going in Circles”) and Little Johnny Taylor (“Part Time Love”).
The artist leaves a legacy not only of music. Youngsters know him better as the voice of animated South Park character Jerome "Chef" McElroy, who was killed off in the beginning of the 10th season, on account of Hayes leaving the series after the Scientology episode.
