Even though she has been the center of attention in the media for various reasons, including the release of her musical album, Miley Cyrus seems to feel insecure about her status in the pop-tween world.
Soon after rumors started to spread about a possible relationship between Disney stars Nick Jonas, 15, and Selena Gomez, 16, Miley Cyrus posted a YouTube video in which, together with her pal Mandy Jiroux, she mocked Selena.
Selena Gomez and her 15-year-old friend and “Camp Rock” star Demi Levato had released a YouTube video in which they reached to their fans and talked about teen issues, such as makeup, cosmetic dentistry and Selena’s favorite “Power Rangers” rangers. The video was an Internet hit, with more than 3 million views so far, and Miley apparently did not appreciate that too much. And what could be a better attack than to respond with a malicious and infantile video?
The response includes scenes of Miley and Mandy mimicking Demi and Selena nearly word for word and making fun of the gap in Demi’s teeth and her choice of clothes.
In the video, Miley wears a “Ninja Turtles” T-shirt, which obviously aims to mock Selena’s “Power Rangers” T-shirt.
In case people haven’t noticed whom Miley and her pal were mocking, the video ends with a graphic that reads: “Parody of: Demi Lovato & Selena Gomez! Check out our friends' YouTube!!!!! XOXOXO M & M.”
Selena Gomez and Nick Jonas have been rumored to be an item for some time, and a source told People magazine that they “have been dating for months,” but a rep for the Jonas Brothers insisted there was no romance in the relationship of the two Disney stars. Still, Selena was photographed several times getting cozy with Nick. Also, she appears in the Jonas Brothers’ video “Burnin’ Up” wearing an Elvis Costello T-shirt, an item of clothing that Jonas told People was one of his favorite things.
