Is Britney Spears really able to come back? The troubled former singer released her new single, "Womanizer," on Friday morning on New York radio station Z100, and fans are impressed. Womanizer is the first single on Spears' upcoming album, Circus, due for release Dec. 2, her 27th birthday. A video was also shot as well, featuring a black-wigged, red-lipped Britney Spears doing the nasty waitress who makes out with a man on a kitchen counter.
Rumors are that Britney sports a vampy look, with a long, black wig, butt-tight leather pants, fake tattoos, a tuxedo top and vest and red lipstick. The video was allegedly shot at L.A. hot spot Elevate and in the kitchen of the hip eatery Takami Sushi & Robata, under director Joseph Khan, who also made the videos for "Stronger" and "Toxic."
Womanizer's release date was pushed back from its original Sept. 22 release date after a leaked 37-second clip, likely made by recording a phone call, made its way on the airwaves. The song is already available for free streaming on the Z100 website and will be likely be available for digital download next Monday the latest.
Britney Spears opened this year’s MTV Video Music Awards with a much talked about performance, which in the end proved to be much ado about nothing. Her longed-for comeback consisted of a pretaped segment with “Superbad” star Jonah Hill and a live minute of introducing the show.
Although she did not sing, the pop princess took home the prizes for Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and the top award, Video of the Year, for her single “Piece of Me.”
