According to several tech websites and blogs, it is very likely that Amazon will release a new version of its very popular e-book reader, the Kindle.
Rumors about the new eBook devices started to float around the company not much time ago, when a few photos from what is suspected to be the Amazon Kindle 2, appeared on the web.
Even more, numerous writers that guess that Amazon will soon reveal the Kindle 2, as it has sent letters to several journalists, inviting them to Morgan Library & Museum in New York City on February 9, as the company will host an “important” press conference.
Tech experts believe that the second version of Kindle will be slimmer, lighter and more easy to use in order to increase its share on the market. However, financial analysts stressed that Amazon might not do the right thing, as this is not a time when people use to spend large amounts of money.
Besides, the economic depression is affecting many Americans now, so it is unlikely that Amazon will manage to sell many units of its new device. Still, market researchers have always pointed out that, if a product proves to be good and appealing enough, people will tend to buy it, no matter the case.
Amazon released the first Kindle eBook reader in November 2007 and the commercial success soon followed as the company initiated an aggressive marketing campaign on its website. Through Kindle, Amazon also managed to popularize the concept off an eBook reader, as competition grew stronger in the subsequent months.
