Tina Fey is getting a lot of publicity lately; she actually seems to be everywhere you look, mainly because of her successful impersonation of vice-presidential candidate, Sarah Palin. The question is if this can help her other projects become even more popular, especially “30 Rock”, Fey’s NBC comedy that will start off with a new season Thursday at 9:31 p.m. Statistically, Tina Fey’s impersonation of Sarah Palin raised ratings for the Saturday Night Live with a whopping 50%, so, logically, maybe people will be more interested in the work of Tina Fey. The comedy “30 Rock” has its share of devoted viewers but it needs more to catch up with other more successful comedies like, for example, “Two and a Half Men.”
The “30 Rock” series has proven worthy enough to have won Emmy Awards but this had no effect on their ratings. The series which stars Tina Fey as Liz Lemon and Alec Baldwin as Jack Donaghy will return this year with the usual extremely funny moments and exceptional screen writing. Also, it is said that the November 6th episode will have Oprah making a guest appearance to the show, which is purely amazing and will drive the curiosity of many people.
All in all, the public acts spontaneous, shows have always been getting ratings according to a balanced relation between quality and publicity. If the hype surrounding Tina Fey will affect in a positive way “30 Rock” is anyone’s guess, the fact is that Tina Fey helped the Saturday Night Live show a lot and that her acting is what really makes her valuable in entertainment; the impersonation of Sarah Palin is just a proof of her value.
