IPhone's Shortcomings Mean Nothing for Apple Fans

The new iPhone 3G is finally out and endless waiting lines have formed at Apple’s and its carriers’ stores. The general vibe is extremely positive as people everywhere have been eagerly expecting its release.

The sales have begun just as the company anticipated and will surely maintain the current trend for a long period of time, even though the device presents several inconveniences. Some reported trouble with their Pandora Radio application, which even though offers great features and sound through its Wi-Fi or 3G, in some cases leads to a system crash that demands a reboot. Also, there are some keys missing and no Microsoft Office document editors, problems for which developers will release solutions by the end of the year.

Another issue refers to lack of GPS driving direction apps and the instant messaging options.

On a different note, a limitation that might turn out to be rather irritating is the impossibility of running applications in the background. Each app requests the device’s full attention and users will not be able to perform multiple tasks until Apple will release an update to its operating system.

Also, there have been several discussions about the offer on Apple’s App Store, where there are only 20 apps available for music and video. The rest, all the way to 554, deal with many other matters such as games, educational programs, mobile commerce and business productivity tools.

As its advertising campaign probably made it all the way to the North Pole by now, no matter what the reviews might be saying, people will still be intrigued by the buzz surrounding the device and many will consider it as their first option when thinking of buying a smartphone.
