Linda Bollea, wife of pro-wrestler Hulk Hogan, filed for divorce last Wednesday and is seeking half of the couple’s assets, worth an estimated $9.5 million.

Professional wrestler Hulk Hogan was reportedly “devastated” last week when he learned that his wife of nearly a quarter of a century, Linda Bollea, had filed for divorce. Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, even told a reporter last week that news of the divorce petition had caught him “off guard” and that he was not aware of any such plans from his wife. He said Linda had been in California for the past three weeks.

Linda Bollea, 48, filed for divorce from Hogan, 54, in Florida's Pinellas Pasco Circuit Court, last Wednesday, after 24 years of marriage. The petition says the marriage is “irretrievably broken” but does not cite the actual reason for divorce.

Linda is also seeking half of the couple’s assets; these include the nearly 17,000-square-foot mansion in Bel Air where the family lives and a 3,474-square-foot home on Clearwater Beach. The Bolleas also have a condominium under construction in Las Vegas.

The Associated Press reports that Pinellas County records place the market value of the Bel Air mansion at more than $7.2 million and the Clearwater house at more than $2.2 million.

Linda is also seeking alimony and child support for their 17-year-old son, Nick. The papers reportedly specify Linda hopes to have her son live with her, while Hogan is granted “liberal” visitation rights.

The couple’s other child, daughter Brooke, is 19 and not legally subject to child support requirements.

Hogan’s estranged wife is also requesting health insurance for her son, who has been charged with reckless driving in a car crash that left a passenger with severe brain injuries.

TMZ.com reported Tuesday that Hulk Hogan may not have been as surprised as he appeared to be when he was told of the divorce. The celebrity gossip site informs that he and his wife had been separated since June and even filmed part of their last season of “Hogan Knows Best” while apart.

The wrestler and his family starred in four seasons the VH1 reality television show “Hogan Knows Best,” which chronicled their personal lives, Brooke’s aspirations to become a singer and taking care of the menagerie of dogs, cats and birds they shelter.
